A person with knowledge of “that which we don’t speak of”

Burghers, I’m sorry to bring up “that which we don’t speak of” once again, however, it just keeps getting damn funnier!

Check out today’s latest on “The Thumb” (gasp!):

A person with knowledge of the injury said a tendon or ligament in Roethlisberger’s right thumb was strained in the Steelers’ Nov. 28 game against Indianapolis and that a sliver of bone was chipped off in the joint.

Coach Bill Cowher steadfastly has declined to specify the injury, and Roethlisberger said he’s been told not to offer any details.

… there’s more hope this week that it will heal itself and return to normal without an operation, the source indicated.

Usually, you hear about “the source” when it comes to super secret things like politicians, terrorists, celebrity sexual orientation … thumb injuries to a pro football player? Not so much.

Loves it! Because I don’t understand it.

Wonder if we’ll see a lawsuit a la Judith Miller that ends up with Ed Bouchette being thrown in jail for not revealing his source?

I don’t know if this has been mentioned but is it ironic that the burgh aches for “one for the thumb” and the thumb we are relying on to do that is out of commission?
