Is that really how the PA Culinary Institute makes its chefs wear their chef hats? REALLY?

    A terrible picture of an old school chef hat. Chef hats like the one pictured on the commis, are from the french revolution when chefs were demonized as members of the royalty and hence beheaded. They hid in the monestaries and wore the bishops hat sideways and a tunic similer to a bishops. The fluffy hat was never very popular with chefs, mnore with bakers. I wouldn’t be caught dead in a ‘fluffy’ Now a ‘fluffe’ is another story altogether.
