Today she revealed the title of this mysterious health study. Ready?
A Report on the Mental, Physical, Spiritual, Social Status of the Ninth Councilmatic (sic) District
I think the PG placed a “sic” there because I guess she was going for “Councilmanic”.
“I apologize for the delay, and yes, people have the right to know” what city money is being spent on, she said, adding that she’d never really intended to make the report public, but was doing so anyway.
She said the goal of producing the report was to increase awareness, better educate her constituents on health resources available, and attract more health care providers to the district.
Doesn’t the first statement completely contradict the second? Spending 30k on a study you never planned to make public? Then what the hell do the study for? So that you can walk around and smirk “I know something you don’t know.”
She said the report was never finished, and she did not know whether she would be able to complete it, given the solicitor’s inquiry and media scrutiny.
However, the Trib reports that she did in fact release the study at the meeting with her constituents, that it was 85 pages long, heavy on charts and graphs and largely written by other writers. I’m completely confused.
Yeah, it’s dark for me now, but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
I KNOW she didn’t just play the martyr card, did she?
So I downloaded the PDF of this “health report” (those quotation marks are the Trib’s, not mine.)
A great deal of it is just a copy of other studies. Pages 15-41 are graphs. And then pages 41-59 is basically a sermon. Seriously, I’m not joking. Go read it for yourself. It is totally a sermon.
Can you say “Annoying Burgher of the Week”? I totally can.
