Oh, Benny.

Benny! How many times have we had this discussion?

But you know before I get to that point, let me say that no matter how annoying you are to me, I would NEVER want you to get hurt because dude, we need you to win football games.

That said, I realize that you feel that you are a safe enough motorcycle driver that you don’t need a helmet, however, I’d like to point out that for every safe motorcycle driver out there, there are about 500 unsafe vehicle drivers out there and about 3 deer that care to run right in front of your bike.

If you weren’t wearing a helmet today when you ran into that car, it is going to hit the fan my friend. Be ready.

And when I’m sure that you are going to be okay, I’m going to go ahead and make the joke that anyone that rides a scooter like this, cannot be that good of a motorcycle driver. But it’s too soon for that.

Get well, Benny. I may hate you, but I still love you. For reals.

Updates:  Benny is in serious condition, but expected to be okay.

Benny may have broken his jaw, according to one source.

Benny landed on the pavement head first after bouncing off of the car.  He had a lot of blood on his face and blood pooled under his head (scary!).
Benny was NOT wearing a helmet (dumb!).

Benny was not speeding but apparently did not see the car he rammed into.

Doesn’t he know that all of the city of Pittsburgh (not including the ravenous numbers of fans) will crucify him when gets better and still refuses to wear a helmet.

    Dumb, Ben. Real dumb.

With his career contignent on him having full use of his motor skills he should have been nowhere near a motorcycle/street bike. I just don’t see the fascination with them anyway. No protection at all from the elements, people and other vehichles.
