The Napper is CAUGHT!

I’m a little confused here.

Why did the chief of police, that big-hair sportin’, tired lookin’, everywhere bein’, gangster soundin’ Dom Costa feel the need, when he happened upon one of his employees napping while on patrol, to snap a camera phone pic of the offender and then make public the fact that he caught someone sleeping?

Why is this news? I mean, I understand we don’t want our officers sleeping on the job, but it seems to me that this matter would be easily rectified by Dom calling the officer into his office, saying, “Dude, I saw you sleeping.” and then issuing the correct discipline.

Why instead did he snap a photo, have someone alert the media (otherwise, how did they know?), and thus publicly humiliate the dude?

Again, I’m not defending what the napper did, I’m just curious as to why this is such a big freakin’ deal. It’s not like he was caught having sex with a prostitute while on duty, or taking bribes. He took a nap.

And damn, if anyone needs a nap, it looks like Dom does.

He is ‘redding up’ the police force. I would imagine the police union might have something to say about this public punishment.

It’s a big deal because police don’t usually tell on each other. It’s a very big deal if someone that high up does it. He’s basically saying ‘I’m not going to put up with this shit in my department’ which is what they all should, but won’t do.

It’s rather nice actually as if you want to see police basically sleeping on the job with their eyes open you only need to drive past the gas station on Liberty near West Penn hospital and count the number of police hanging out there.

I agree with the Liberty Avenue gas station comment, there is always a cop car or two hanging out in that lot every evening. I don’t get it…
