Oh, Bobby O.

Man, Bobby O. is dead for a month and suddenly this city is back to hating itself.

You can read my post below about Shitenna Miller calling the Burgh “Shitsburgh” and when I first read the article I cannot tell you how pissed I was.

She’s getting paid lots of money to film a movie in a town where lots of people work their asses off every day and she dares to insult us that way.

Apparently, I’m the only one pissed at this, as the Trib went out and found some Burghers and no one seems to be that mad.

Pittsburghers aren’t judging her too harshly. Some, ever the underdog in their own minds, agreed with her assessment.

Sort of.

“Well, she’s wrong,” said Jim Dunn, a South Side musician in his 40s. “It’s Pyscho-burg.”

Dunn then ranted about what’s really wrong with the city: too much graffiti on empty buildings along East Carson Street.

“They have to take down the pants of these teenagers and whip their behinds,” he said.

Wha? First of all, I’m not comfortable with the dude talking about taking down the pants of teenagers and whipping their bare behinds. Ew.

Secondly, “Psycho-burg?” What the hell does that even mean?

Kim Favara, 23, an employee at Chocolate Celebrations ice cream parlor on East Carson, was reasonable about the whole situation.

“I think Pittsburgh has its own unique culture. I think I can understand why someone from England wouldn’t appreciate it,” she said.

Shitenna is well within her rights to not find the Burgh as awesome and charming as I do; however, she didn’t need to go in a national magazine and call us “Shitsburgh” either.

Eric Wortzman, 29, an accountant who lives in Ross, was one of those fans.

“There are a lot of other cities that are worse, but there are a lot of other places that are better,” he said. He doesn’t hold anything against Miller.

What if he saw Miller come out of the hotel? “I would probably try hitting on her.”

Hit on her? Why? So you can see what sex with a pissed-off skeleton feels like?

Burghers? Yes the city has problems, yes I question the qualifications of the entire city council, yes there is graffiti (my God, have you BEEN to New York?), but I’ve seen the country and trust me, the Burgh is a great place. Why aren’t we more angry that she insulted the city so badly when she’s got no one to blame that she’s done nothing for a month but sit in her hotel room and sulk?

We should be pissed. We should be training our pigeons. We should be defending our awesome city, not trying to hit on the bitch that publicly equates us with poop.

I agree that we should be ROYALLY pissed.
I had to leave my beloved ‘burgh to obtain work elsewhere and I have lived various places– including Philly and currently Baltimore, and Pittsburgh is a GREAT place.
Stoopid british skeleton. She deserves her stoopid cheating boyfriend.

The opinions of celebrities aren’t to be trusted anyway. In my opinion, anything a celebrity says should be taken for the opposite of what it is.

she’s trying to drum up attention for her not-ready-for B-movie acting ass….by involving Blitzburgh (a reference to the Superbowl Champs…god that sounds great even typing it) and knowing that there is an un-godly amount of Pittsburghers scattered around the country. If not for the media blowing this outta proportion…I would not have remembered who Sienne Miller was. She’s a shitty actress, who has just made sure that I will never watch/patronize any of her films. May god have mercy on your bitchy soul.

You know I was really mad too when I first heard about her comments, but think about it, I think she’s the only celebrity to have come here and say she hates it. Have you ever noticed how many celebrities do come here and love it???
