It’s cold AND the Steelers lost.

Weather and the Steelers are the top news stories likely to be covered by the local media.

Today, the PG went one up and used both in their first cold weather related article on the front page of the local section:

At least for this week, we free-fall right past fall. Yesterday yielded unseasonably warm temperatures and blue skies — the antidote for a Steelers’ post-loss hangover — but as the region angles toward the end of the week, weather will worsen.

Crafty.

So it’s only going up to 44 degrees on Friday and is going down to 31 degrees on Saturday night.

Hate me all you want, but I’m totally cool with that. And besides, a 44 degree day will really help clear up all the confusion that Burghers experience when the weather is 60 degrees, with half the city dressed in shorts and flip flops and the other half wearing sweaters and gloves.

And mark my words, if by chance there is some sort of frozen precipitation on that 31 degree night, you can expect lots of breaking news stories and a very very concerned looking Stephen Cropper who will warn you with the impending doom of a nuclear blast, that there is a two percent chance of some sleet.

Alert the salt trucks now.

Quickly, run to the Giant Eagle……buy all the T-paper you can carry and lots of milk, you never know you might not be able to drive tomorrow.

And water! Don’t forget the bottled water! The pipes could freeze and burst and it could be days or even weeks until you have water again!!
