Just sayin’.

You ever watch one of those disaster movies where in the beginning of the movie, the earth is doing some weird underground unexplained things at a greater and greater frequency that eventually turn out to not be geological at all but rather the impending doom of say an underground volcano or massive sheep and people-eating earthworms?

    Somehow, I don’t think so.
You ever watch one of those movies where small town officials, the Sheriff, the Mayor(s) and various other connected types; brothers, uncles, cousins, etc ( many with similar last names) siphon off public money for too many years when suddenly (?) it all begins to fall apart around them and all is despair.
Sounds like more than leaking water.

Suuurrre…freeze thaw cycles…that’s what they *want* you to think. That’s the line put out by the mayor, sherrif, and the overly slick “expert” from the gubmint. Pittgirl, look around the city for a young, thin, probably unshaven man with slightly rumpled clothing, clutching a sheaf of computer printouts, who is glancing at them and at terrain features or buildings in an increasingly worried way. He’ll have the truth! :-)
