Campaign donor and businessman Ross Aiello, 89, of Dormont, said the mayor should not have gone on the trip and should not have lied about it afterward, but he still supports him. Aiello said he gave Ravenstahl’s campaign $7,000 last year.

“Dave Lawrence would have never done that,” said Aiello, who owns Commonwealth Warehouse & Storage in Lawrenceville, mentioning Pittsburgh’s mayor in the 1940s and ’50s. “I’ll call him and tell him he shouldn’t have done that.”

Yeah, I totally intended to go to an 8:30 am meeting in Pittsburgh when I didn’t even get into NY until after midnight.

Skipped out on a Hill District meeting because I got high …
