And …………….. DRINK!

Thanks to Ms. Monongahela, you all can take a drink to try to wash away the horror that is the reality of Steely McBeam.

Mayor Luke Ravenstahl says, “We need a grocery store in Downtown Pittsburgh. That was always a missing piece. The grocery store would signify in some way, shape or form that Downtown is in fact, on the rebound and is moving forward.”

The video is here so you get to drink once for the print version and once for the video version!

Mojito, meet your new friend … another mojito.

I’ve also noticed that Mayor Luke has a tendency to say “some way, shape or form” quite a bit… it’s incredibly annoying!

He also says, “certainly” way too much.

Too bad the groceries are going to be too expensive for the people who actually NEED a grocery store in the proximity. Tom Murphy isn’t involved in this somehow, is he?

No, Zsa, Tom Murphy would have gone out and targeted a grocery store that didn’t want to be downtown in the first place, and then somehow he would have come up with the money to bribe it into setting up shop. They’d get the kind of tax breaks all the other small businesses downtown could only dream about. The grocery store would last for a few years before its owner finally said, “You know what? I really don’t want to be here.”

    True that, Judge, true that.

but judge, dont forget the future redevelopment of said grocery and adjacent properties. i always wanted a loft style condo in the produce section. now, for just $450k, i too can live along the radicchio. couldnt think of a better way to ‘invest’$18 million of public funds. though i am certain those subsidies will be passed on to the local retailers via reduced rents. no doubt in my mind…

The slogan (move forward) was used last night on PCN Night Talk — and we’d be hung over this morning, except for the fact that the electric power in the neighborhood was going out throughout the time that the show as on the air (cable).

Is PNC’s Nighttalk on the web?
