Sally Wiggin almost CRIED.

Have you guys seen this video from ESPN?  It was emailed to me ages ago with the warning that I needed 20 minutes to devote to it, and well, I rarely have 20 minutes to devote to anything except David Conrad stalking, coffee drinking, and pigeon killing.

Trust me when I tell you that if you are a Steelers fan, you want to find some time to watch this.  And trust me when I tell you that if you are a Sally Wiggin fan, you want to find some time right now to watch this.

Besides the fact that the entire video in and of itself is a beautiful ode to the city and its people, Sally herself is just a class act.

Some awesome Sally quotes.  This one near the beginning:

Pittsburghese is this odd accent.  It’s not southern; it’s not northeastern; it’s not West Virginian; it’s a combination of all of those.  And I think that’s kind of what Pittsburgh is.  It’s a combination of all of these different geographic areas coming together in the Appalachian mountains.  It is not quite sure what it is geographically, linguistically, but it is sure of what it is when it comes to football.

Three quarters of the way through, she sheepishly says,

When something BIG happens with the Steelers, it hits the local news.

HAH!  By “something big” she means “anything the hell at all.”

And, she gets emotional and you can see her holding in tears when she says this near the end:

You can become innovated. You can move into another era without forgetting your roots. That’s what Steeler Nation means today.  One foot firmly planted in tradition, and the next foot planted in the future.

I’ve always thought Sally Wiggin to be quite awesome, but now she has solidified her status as a Smokin’ Hot Burgher and I am hereby joining the “Whoa Sally Wiggin” Facebook group.   I would kick a pigeon out of her way, any day.

Also Bret Michaels?  WTF?

I’d always felt so-so about Sally Wiggin until she came to one of my classes at Pitt. From that day on, I was totally, completely in love with her. She kicks so much ass.

My Mom and I both cried when we watched that. It is so awesome.

The whole Bret Michaels thing is really weird, considering he has been all over the internets with that goofy Brady Quinn….

Something tells me he is going to leave a ‘VIP Pass’ with Big John for Brady in the season finale of Rock of Love (translation=cracker version of “Flava of Love”)

It’s Sally’s time to go. She looks more ragged each and every day. Can WTAE please pick up a few younger women and look towards the future. I hate KDKA, but I’ll watch it for Valerie Abati, Sonni Abatta, & Kristine Sorensen :Q
