That’s just sad.

DUDES, you guys, something is wonky because this is an old post from November, so I’m not sure what’s up and why you’re being directed here.  We’re working on it.  Well, SOMEBODY is working on it.  I’m sitting here drinking coffee all, “stupid site.”  Here are some people I would imagine are behind this:  scientologists, any past or current Annoying Burgher, The Duke, the pigeons, or more realistically, the howler monkeys.  Damn howler monkeys.

So I’m either writing for really really dumb adults or really really trashy toddlers.

Try looking at it this way — at the beginning (middle and end, too) of the day, Burgh Blog readers are just getting their morning (constant) caffeine fix, not really focusing their brains just yet and don’t really want to tax their minds. You are providing a valuable service because those of us who are reading at work (during our breaks of course) need an escape without too much stress on the brain. I rarely go to those hoi-poloi sites with the big words and philosophical b.s., and it’s not because I have no clue what is being debated. It’s because I want to be entertained; I want to laugh; I want to go “hmm, that’s interesting.” I get enough of the analytical garbage while doing my job. It’s the same way I explained my addiction to the shows on the WB when it first started — after working all day and going to law school classes four nights a week, when I get home I just want to look at some pretty boys and not have to think while I watch tv. I don’t want have to think.

As for the NC-17 rating, I wouldn’t sweat it. Have you not heard some of the language that comes out of pre-schoolers mouths these days? Not to mention some of the accepted language during the family viewing hour of 8-9 each night.

    Dear PittGirl,

I was a little ahead of you on this one Well, OK, only the “reading level” one. (Imagine!)

Please check out the response I left for Agent Ska of The Ideas Bucket and know that all is well and your block still rocks the hell out of the Burghosphere. And also know that if you type in the *other* PG website (Post-Gazette), it, too has an elementary school rating.

Sorry — that previous post is rife with errors. I’ve been writing and typing all damn day … most glaringly, I meant to write “blog” not “block,” obviously. Shit. Damn. Bitch!

(Just trying to help you keep your NC-17.)

Until a few days ago, my blog was the diametric opposite of yours: Postgraduate College level reading and a G rating.

(Then I had to go write-up Jack Kelly and got dinged over a dozen times for using the word “torture,” instantly upping my rating to an R.)

The reason so many people read PittGirl is because you keep it real, simple and earthy.
