Perhaps the two oddest searches ever that landed people at The Burgh Blog and they both happened this morning:
picture of grape jelly and potatoes in ass
I … got nothing.
Except the heebie jeebies.

Someday, you’ll have to explain to me just why “picture of grape jelly and potatoes in ass” lands you at The Burgh Blog. Is there a section of this site that I haven’t stumbled upon yet?

The second is more awesome than anything. Ever.

“picture of grape jelly and potatoes in ass” … I AM IN TEARS! Hahah.

at least those reasons weren’t combined — right?

1. That’s really weird
2. How do you know what searches brought people here?

My statcounter account also tracks search engine hits. So I can kind of see over the last 500 hits who landed here via Google or Yahoo or whatever and what words they searched by.
Usually, it is PittGirl, or The Burgh Blog, or Sonni Abatta, or David Conrad.

at least they’re spelling potato correctly.

The weirdest on my statcounter right now is:
“exhibitionist activities in pittsburgh pa”
that’d be a great idea for a post, though…

I just did a test and a Google search for “picture of grape jelly and potatoes in ass” without quotes does return a theburghblog.com page (aside from this most recent entry). Now, that doesn’t explain why someone would search for that particular combination of terms, but it does explain how they got here.

What stat counter do you use? I would like to put it on my website. The one I have is so basic.
Still A Fan

i love the stat counter. i once did a post where i needed to make up names of gay porn websites. as you can imagine, i had a lot of fun doing this. i picked some low fruit and had manonman.com as one of the examples i used. to this day, i get at minimum 1 hit a day from someone searching google for “manonman.com”. be VERY CAREFUL what you put in a post as it’s there forever lest you delete it….and even then sometimes search engines cache old pages!
even funnier – i had a hit for manonman.com from the middle east which lead me to post this picture:

I want to meet the person who landed at my site for “really get going nipples.”
January 4, 2008 2:24 pm
It does seem weird i would ask that, but i was just wondering since a couple other blogs i visit have made reference to weird searches to find them

Along the same lines, I’m still trying to figure out what the goal is when someone googles “Mommy blowing Santa under the Christmas tree.” Are they looking for photos? Stories? To get in on the action? (None of which can be found at my site. Promise.)

I am trying so hard to keep my officmate from knowing I’m reading a blog while she’s drafting something, and I am failing MISERABLY.
I assume “grape jelly” is relevant to the post regarding the meatball recipe from Sid’s mom, but WOW. I so bet that person has a Craigslist personal ad, too.

my daughter and her friend were playing a game today called google???? The goal is to type in a combination of words which turns up 1 search item only. Reminded me of this thread.
