And …………….. DRINK!

Despite Lukey’s (Zober’s) best efforts to crack down on his staff’s penchant for using the phrase move forward in the writing of his speeches, press releases, and the like, there is not a thing Lukey can do about his own brain’s choice of words during his off the cuff conversations with the media:

It’s not my intention to have government come to a squeaking halt on these issues,” Mr. Ravenstahl countered. “We need to keep moving these things forward.”

Yay! My coffee sure could use a shot of Bailey’s. I’m off to find someone selling Bailey’s this early in the morning. I might have to head out to Westhampsminstershire for that. Or maybe The Highland Estates.

I do believe, for future reference, that the Sq. Hill Liquor store opens at 9 a.m. I think even in Westhampsminstershire you wont find one opening much earlier than that. (Don’t ask me how I know where to find the earliest opening nearest to me state store.)

I miss the old Centre Ave Giant Eagle. I used to live in the brick building on Centre and Dithridge and many were the days that on my morning walk to UPMC, I saw a fine gentleman outside of that establishment selling liquor that had just recently fallen out the back of a truck for a significant discount.

I’m a new reader to the Burgh Blog and I’m so hooked that I went back to the beginning of the year and caught up! As a person born and raised in the Hill District and whose parents were born and raised in the Hill District I find the Highland Estates to be hilarious and will call it that from now on!

Anybody watch Biggest Loser? Anybody else think that Jay looked like a fat Luke after his makeoever? I sat there racking my brain, trying to figure out who Jay looked like, then it came to me & then I drank…just because.

“Squeaking halt”? What is government, some kind of oversized mouse? Of course, he’s talking about the LED billboards, I believe. We do not have to keep moving these things forward. We need to stop these things, in a screeching halt.
