The College of West South Pittsburgh University

I’m so over Terrelle Pryor.

It was less than two hours until the star high school quarterback let the world know his college choice was Ohio State, and Mr. Pryor was nowhere to be found.

He did not show up for classes yesterday morning at Jeannette High School. Athletic director Bob Murphy couldn’t get him on the phone. Guidance counselor Rick Klimchock was starting to get nervous as members of the media were arriving for a noon news conference.

Never mind wanting to know where Mr. Pryor was going to college. Jeannette officials simply wanted to know where he was. Forty-two days earlier, Mr. Pryor called a news conference — to announce he hadn’t made a college decision.

“Not again,” Mr. Klimchock muttered yesterday morning.

Mr. Pryor eventually arrived at school, an hour before the news conference. But he was still being coy. Fifteen minutes before the announcement, Jeannette football coach Ray Reitz emerged from a meeting with Mr. Pryor and said, “He’s still not telling us yet.”

Mr. Pryor eventually meandered down two hallways to the auditorium.

And you thought PittGirl had an ego the size of 15222?

“It’s the University of Ohio State,” Mr. Pryor said.

The University of Ohio State? Is that near the College of Cincinnati? Or maybe it’s closer to The Dayton State University of Columbus?

Here’s hoping he humbles himself right quick before someone else does it for him. Maybe he needs to hang out with Sidney Crosby for a while so that Sid can smack some humility into Terrelle’s fight-mongering, giant diamond-wearing head.

Well, at least he has the opportunity to take advantage of a free college education.

    Why are you laughing?

Why is this punk being paid the respect of being addressed as “Mr. Pryor”? Sounds like he needs a reality check!

finally — our national nightmare is over.

I do have to admit that I love “the university of ohio state” (no emphasis on THE — that’s just annoying).

but, I hope that mr. pryor has more success there than maurice clarett did.

all I’d say to mr. pryor, if I had the opportunity, is “you better check yourself before you wreck yourself.”

he said it that way to make people think he was going to say “the univeristy of michigan” – he’s f-ing with the media and michigan people. that wins him a few points in my book.

Also, he was called “Mr Pryor” i nthe article because it was written for the NEWS section. They always do that. Same as they would talk about “Mr Cowher” or the day they hired “Mr. Tomlin.”

Like he was the Steelers’ new Gym teacher.

This High School kid ( and don’t forget that he’s just that, a HIGH SCHOOL KID ) has played the drooling dimwit media and the public like a bunch of sock puppets. All the the aid and assistance of his parents, although not much because most can see who runs things in that household and a multitude of other adults who are connected to institutions of high education. Shame on them for allowing themselves to be manipulated by a child and shame on them for manipulating the media and the public.
Wishing him no ill, will but I deep in my heart hope this child gets his comeuppance in a grand manner for all to see, and soon.
Oh yeah, and good luck with the education part also.

Um…maybe that is what’s wrong with some of our schools. He is in high school. Meaning he is old enough to get the name of the college he will be attending right! How ridiculous and moronic on his part.

If he didn’t learn humility from Charlie Batch (and it seems that he didn’t), he certainly wouldn’t learn it from Sid.

Is it just me? But why the hell was this child permited to have a press conference at the school in the first place? It had to be highly disruptive to the rest of the students – hardly a good “learning environment.”
And who care where he goes to college? The odds of his actually making it to the professional level are slim. If by chance he does make it, and his ego is this big now, what exactly do you think he’ll be like then? He’ll be doing more than hitting babymammas…

Pryor has attitude problems. My alma mater was defintely in the running last Fall and I’m glad he didn’t go there. I distinctly remember reading a story that Pryor considers himself a pro prospect.. soon! 2 years, IIRC.

Interesting rumor on the ESPN boards.. Pryor is supposedly driving around in a Corvette. Hmmmmm. Mom & Dad have money? What role has Batch REALLY done in this saga? Smells like an “agent” to me. An enterprising journalist could make a name for themself.

He didn’t say “The University of Ohio State” to fake anyone out – if you watch, he unzips his jacket (showing an OSU shirt) and puts on the “Block O” hat before saying a word. What a moron.

At least my fries will be hot at the Restaurant of McDonalds.

#10, couldn’t have said it better my self. Is there a “double jagoff”? Maybe we should create it for him.

    March 20, 2008 3:35 pm

double jagoff sounds like a perfect way to describe that self-absorbed primadonna.

and i agree, Pensgirl – Sid will be no help to him.

  21. KGC
    March 20, 2008 4:59 pm

I simply cannot believe Pryor’s reason for not going to Penn State because it was “rural”. Hey, double jagoff.. Jeanette isn’t exactly an effin’ metropolis!

A funny commentator from the ESPN boards (paraphrasing) — “At least I will have only the 2nd lowest GPA at Jeanette HS.” Snort.

I have 24 months from today on the over/under as to when Pryor will (a) be arrested, (b) flunk out, or (c) declare for either the NFL or NBA. I don’t believe he will ever start a game at QB for the University of Ohio State. He’s playing with the big boys, now, not AA.

Penn State must have wanted him to actually goto classes and graduate or something…

and to think back in Feb I actually felt bad for all the pressure that he was getting to make a decision…

Admittedly, Terrell is not the brightest light on the tree. He is not going to college for an education, but for a career. You will see him in the NFL some day, likely soon. Why would you much smarter (and I guess superior) people be so critical of him? He’s a kid, after all. He will mature in the coming years, but for now, he’s having fun with all the attention. He did not, after all, ask for it; it came to him. And no, there’s no corvette. If you believed that, then who’s the real idiot????

  25. Anthony
    March 21, 2008 9:26 am

Leave the kid alone, I’m from Jeannette the kid has been nothing but class the entire time. Excuse him for being excited at a press conference. He was trying to build drama, if he just comes out and says Ohio State then the suspense is over. All of you need to be ashamed of yourselves we are talking about 18 year old kid that has had to deal with more people pulling at him then all of you combined. Really classy people in here I see. You’ll find out what kind of kid and football player he is going to be and I can’t wait for everyone to eat their words when he dominates!

He is not going to college for an education, but for a career. You will see him in the NFL some day, likely soon.

Then why the pretense of going to college at all?

I’m so glad I went to a school with a shitty football team.

  27. bucdaddy
    March 21, 2008 9:39 am

Anthony, Sorry, maybe I’ve just seen too many “classy” kids like Pacman Jones and Chris Henry and now Noel Devine come through WVU and turn into monsters, but … sometimes you take him away from home, where people at least all know him and keep a minimal eye on him, and turn him loose in a city where the temptations and troubles are far more numerous, and that kid … eh, let’s say he loses whatever perspective he had, which is a nice way of saying he turns into a thug, if he wasn’t one to start with. Doesn’t happen to all or even most of them, certainly — by all accounts, Pat White is a great player and about as nice a guy as you could want — but it does snare a few, and (it seems) more than a fair proportion of stars and highly touted recruits, such as Mr. Pryor.

    We shall see …

I also have two words for OSU (or is it USO?) and Pryor fans: Jason Gwaltney. Look him up.

    Just a warning.

Sure he will, just like Santonio Asshat Holmes and so many other mature NFL stars.

This kid calls a (second) press conference at the school, then suddenly can’t be reached by the faculty and staff. That’s not classy. That’s creating drama for the school’s adminstrators who aren’t part of this kid’s media team.

Let Terrelle create “drama” at his own house. Or at WPXI.
