So, my son turned 9 yesterday and he (being a hockey player) wanted to go see the Pens practice at Southpointe. They had the day off, so we took a few of his friends and went down there. 30 minutes or so into practice, only a few guys were skating and we figured something must be up. So we went to the other part of the complex – the indoor soccer field. And the rest of the team was playing soccer – SHIRTS v SKINS!!! My son was like, “Oh, man, I want them to play hockey.” I was all, “No, no, this is good!!” And for the record, Hal Gill is hysterical (and be sure to check out his pic!)! So, for your viewing pleasure, I have attached a few photos…
“Back in the Burgh”
Deep breath. And. Go!
While we’re talking about Sidney:
Semin certainly did last week, asking “what’s so special about Sidney Crosby?” in an interview with yahoosports.com.
“I don’t see anything special there,” Semin said. “Yes, he does skate well, has a good head, good pass. But there’s nothing else.”
Semin added: “If you take any player, even if he is dead wood, and start promoting him, you’ll get a star.”
What’s so special about Sidney Crosby?
Also, this is the dead wood I’ve decided to start promoting. I’ll let you know when it becomes a hockey star.
