Tomorrow.

After intense days of worrying about things like life and death and sick babies and water and more life and death, and of blogging about life and death and suffering, I gotta tell you, I’m not sure how to return to posting trivial words about trivial things, which, well, that’s my shtick, darn it.

I talked to my butler Mike about that briefly and basically we agreed that if me writing trivial words about trivial things brings a smile to a few faces, and if it makes me happy to write those trivial words, then so be it.

I’ve enjoyed my break from my blog and I do plan to return tomorrow with guns blazing.

And by “guns blazing,” I mean, “Watch out, pidgees. Pew pew.”

    John,

I’ve never deleted a single comment on this blog other than the time I decided to remove a comment that insulted the name of a child with cancer. Or the time my father commented and revealed that I was married. And I deleted all comments to the BRESMA posts at the request of the family because there was misinformation being reported in them.

I’ve NEVER removed a troll comment EVER, let alone a comment just because it was negative, so I don’t appreciate you accusing me of that.

I have, in five years, just recently blocked ONE troll. One! 1! And he freaking deserved it.

    V.

I guess that’s your story and you’re sticking to it but I would disagree based on that last BRESMA post that had comments. I know you’re saying you deactivated comments because of misinformation but that wasn’t what was happening in that particular post. People were questioning you on what was going on. Some of it was critical so the appearance and perception is “I’m in control of this blog and if you don’t like what I’m trying to do well I’m just closing the comments”. It comes off like a very take-my-ball-and-go-home approach.

You say Priester deserved to be banned and that’s fine, but remember, before your outing you were the biggest troll there was, ripping on everyone under the sun behind the moniker pittgirl. I do give you props for still going after the people you always did (most of them deserve it), even if it cost you your job, but my point still stands.
