Speaking of the Pens

Slow and late posting today because I had a mother’s day Author’s Tea at my son’s school in which the children presented tributes to their moms.

My kid:

“I love my mom because she makes me lunch and dinner and breakfast and without her I would not eat. I hope she lives forever. I hope she gets ten thousand dollars. If I could buy her anything in the world, I would buy her a bigger TV because she loves to watch the Penguins on it.”

My kid rules, and so does this kid:

“If I could buy my mom anything in the world, I would buy her a statue of Sidney Crosby because she loves Sidney Crosby.”

And speaking of the Penguins, have you ever noticed that Max Talbot is equal parts hot and the giantest dork that ever did dork in all of Dorkdom?

I mean that as a compliment. Check out his print ads for Valley Pool and Spa:

I like how in the first picture he’s all, “Shit. I think I’m pregnant.”

I have a Max Talbot tshirt because I love the car dealership commercial (is it A&L Motors??)! I just call him “Superstar” :) Chick-a-chick-ee!

The beauty of that whole thing is that he’s so NOT a superstar, except on TV and in our hearts.

Max is the very essence of playoff hockey.

I loves me some dorky men, that makes him even hotter in my book. I love to get my geek on.

In the second picture, he’s all “Hey ladies, does my shirt look good or what?” The third picture verges on disturbing with what he’s going to do with that duck.

    Ditch your poolboy indeed!

What bluzdude said, and also, Max is the very essence of Pittsburgh – he may be fun, but he works his ass off.

Max is awesome. Met him twice after games to get his autograph outside Gate 2. He is one of the nicest men. Great with his fans, the genuine article.

I heart Talbot. He gives the best interviews during and post-game. He’s got a huge sense of humor and a very small ego. Winning combination!

And I believe Max could grow a full playoff beard, like, after lunch. Color me envious.

I totally love Max Talbot. I still think he was the biggest hero of last year’s Stanley Cup run, starting with The Fight.

Max Talbot is Ross from Friends as an awesome hockey player. Thats all I can see when he’s in a print ad. On the ice, he looks like a force to be reckoned with. Off the ice, he looks like he’s going to start making velociraptor noises.
