… I’m giving away four tickets to the Brew at the Zoo!
Brew = Beer!
Zoo = WILD ANIMALS!
Drinking beer while looking at wild animals!
What could be more fun in a slightly dangerous kind of way?
The best part of Brew at the Zoo isn’t the fun or the flavor-infused beers or the fantastic food or the chance to have a staring contest with a gorilla (they always win), but it is the fact that this event benefits the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.
The details:
- This giveaway is for two pairs of regular tickets (I will be at the beach, so I get to give away my tickets, too!), valued at $50 each. Ticket includes zoo admission, beer tasting, food, and entertainment.
- The event is Saturday, August 21, 2010
- This is an over-21 event. You will be carded, unless you are me, and then you are never carded because bartenders and waitresses are evil jerks who refuse to at least PRETEND like I could possibly be under 21.
Related, today I had to select my age range for a survey. I might have wept at the fact that I have graduated to the next check-box.
Where was I? Is this senility? Am I going to want to go see Paul McCartney now?
Right, giveaway.
So, to enter, one comment per valid email address. You have until tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. to enter at which time Random.org (which chose comment #64 for the Jeans, Jewels, and Jimmy B giveaway, which was the comment from a staff member at CORO) will choose two winning comments. If you don’t win, here’s where you can purchase tickets.
Leave a comment, and if you’d like, tell me, if you could have any single zoo animal as a pet with the promise that it would never get mad and try to eat you or your loved ones, which zoo animal would you choose?
Me? Definitely an ostrich. It’d be like my wild, fancy horse.
Giddyup!
Good luck!

June 17, 2010 10:24 am
i’d go with either an elephant to walk around the neighborhood with and poo in certain yards, or those cute little prairie dogs they used to have at the children’s zoo

A baby tiger!
Victoria
June 17, 2010 10:33 am
Definitely either a lemur or an otter. My fave author (okay one of the top 3) Richard Bach says we are the otters of the universe.
But lemurs have those amazing tails and biiiig eyes! I would call him my Squish.

A monkey – but a nice funny one, not the angry, aggressive monkey you sometimes see at the zoo…

I’d like a couple of Russian Sables. They’re cute, furry, and when they pass on, I can have a kick-a$$ coat made!
Hey, I work in the environmental field! This is what I call “recycling”!

Do you promise they will card me?

I’d want an elephant. It would munch up all my weeds and grass so no more yard work and I could ride it around town.

A Tiger so that can be friends with my cats!

My dream animal, which I would never eat (or even threaten to consume), is a baby elephant. Yes, they are only small for a short time, but how cute are those Dumbo ears and long eye lashes. I went to Brew at the zoo in Baltimore, am planning to attend in DC, making it to Pitt would round out my attendance! Pick me :-)

Drinking beer at the zoo sounds expensive, I want to do this. Also, I want a pet fox.

Absolutely a penguin. If you ever get the chance, do the Penguin Connection program at the National Aviary on the North Shore. I went once and the penguin waddled right over to me and hopped in my lap!

A dolphin; they are of higher intelligence and would be so much fun! I’d build a moat around the house so it could swim freely with an indoor/outdoor pool

I want a polar bear to ride to work.

June 17, 2010 11:57 am
I would have to go with a lion. No more need for a security system or a fence. Honestly–nobody is going to try and break into your house with the King of the Jungle standing guard.

A bear. But when it gets too big for my house, am I allowed to trade it in for a monkey?

It’d really be something to have a monkey (a small one) as a pet, but to be fair we’d have to have a couple–so they wouldn’t get lonely.

I would love to have a giraffe. I’ve always wanted one and if you could make my dream come true, life would be complete… Or if you could just assist me in seeing one, while drinking beers … whatever you can do, I’d appreciate it.
