Etched in our memories.

I’m dealing with some picture uploading issues on my What They’re Really Thinking post, but it should be up tonight provided the Viagra kicks in and the mood is right for side-by-side claw-footed bathtub pre-sex bathing.

Where the hell did I just go?

My brain is tired as it has been a long day.

While you’re waiting, let’s talk about the Civic Mellon Arena some more, because that’s not a divisive issue at all here at That’s Church.

A reader of the Pensblog has come up with the absolute perfect way to memorialize the building once/if (FIGHT FIGHT!) it is torn down.

Can you imagine the beauty of such an etching on the Consol windows, so that when you look out the window from whatever point is spotted on the floor, you’ll see exactly where the Civic Arena once stood and what it looked like?

This is brilliant and beautiful and fitting. Fitting because why wouldn’t the Penguins want to memorialize the building where banners were raised and Mario became a legend and Sidney became Mario 2.0, a legend in his own right?

I hope it happens.

Okay, back to wrestling with my What They’re Really Thinking post.

I’d tell you to wish me luck, but I have tequila, so I don’t need luck. I need salt and limes.

(h/t to all that sent it to me!)

Done and done. I really hope someone in the Pens organization catches wind of this because I think it would be a fitting tribute while still allowing for the redevelopment of the area.

Joined as well and shared this post on fb in hopes of getting more involved. I remember going to some great games and I got to be an extra in Sudden Death.

It was odd to sit and root for the Penguins on film when it was really Johnstown and Wheeling playing on the ice. And then we tried to steal a cardboard cut out from the stands. There was only about a 100 of us and they had the rest of the crowd filled in with cardboard.

If they do actually end up making it go boom, I’ll be ready.

    Great idea!

Dare I ask what is November 2010 or November 2012 and why it cant get here fast enough?

@Dan (not Onarato) – mid-term elections are Nov. 2010, and the next presidential election is Nov. 2012. Not sure what that has to do with the price of tea in China much less a post about the Igloo but you, lovable, crazy, insane Bojack doesn’t need to make sense. He wouldn’t be our beloved Bojack if he did.

@Angry Mondo — my friends and I were there, too. We were at Duquesne Law School in the night program and we would head down during our breaks (fully intending to go back for the second half, of course). It was kind of sad that they could only muster up 100-150 people to sit in the stands. I was in an entire section by myself one night surrounded by nothing but cardboard cuts out. It’s not easy to high five a piece of card board.

I think etched in would be hella cool and what a great tribute. Do it before we implode it.
