We have discussed before how much I love Legos. I love the little Lego people. I love watching my kids build from instructions and then as they get older, learn to build from imagination.
Look at this little kitchen my son made last week. A hamburger ready to be served and a pizza in the microwave (I think that’s a microwave. Knowing my son, it could be pizza jail. Srsly.), and a table with a beautiful plant. Also, a construction-themed bench. That’s a nice touch.
I first learned about Wawadoo a few months ago, and the concept is intriguing if you’re always on the lookout for fun things to do in Pittsburgh. Wawadoo is essentially a recommendation engine for local happenings. When users login, they see all kinds of activities, from live theater showings to leisure learning classes. Each time they indicate they like an event (thumbs up) or dislike an event (thumbs down), they receive increasingly relevant recommendations on other upcoming events that match their tastes.
I like that. Thumbs down Justin Bieber, and I bet you’ll never see a Jonas Brothers recommendation! Are the Jonas Brothers still a thing?
What: Four tickets to LEGO Kidsfest (Sunday, June 19, session 2) at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
This nationally-traveling, three-acre, giant LEGO expo comes to Pittsburgh for the very first time June 17 – 19. The LEGO KidsFest features 40 life-sized models, live Master Builders, gigantic group builds such as the Mystery Murals and Creation Nation, LeGO Club Member Lounge, LEGO Master Builder Academy, brickscapes and monochromatic build areas, LEGO Universe and LEGO Games, and lots of construction zones for hours of creative, all-ages play.
Enter: Visit www.wawadoo.com/legokidsfest, sign up for the free service with the invite code “Church” and that’s it! I did it and it’s ridiculously easy to do. Email, password, “church”, done. You’ll receive an email saying that you’ve entered the contest. The winner will be notified by email from Wawadoo. Enter by 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
The fine print: This giveaway is brought to you by the LEGO Kidsfest and Wawadoo. I have not received anything in return for this giveaway.I simply wanted to draw your attention to what sounds like a pretty cool event-finding service for Burghers.
