Kennywood Ticket Giveaway!

Oh, how we have discussed Kennywood on this blog over the years.

We’ve talked about Potato Patch fries, that gosh darn fat-splaying Rotor, that piece of hell Pitt Fall, that small child-ejecting Jack Rabbit.

I know the Jack Rabbit doesn’t actually eject small children, but it sure feels like it when you’re a small child lifting six inches off of your seat to the delight of your parent who was once a small child being ejected from the Jack Rabbit.

Generation after generation of small children hitting the double dip all “SON OF A MOTHER.”

My new favorite things at Kennywood are called Deep Fried Oreos. They are as nutritious and low-fat as they sound.

The next time I go, I’ll be trying a deep fried Rice Krispies treat, which probably contains marshmallows which I like to think of as dairy. Calcium. Healthy.

I’m going to write a diet book. Eat What You Want; Buy Bigger Clothes.

Best seller right there.

I’ve digressed. Kennywood is as Pittsburgh as a Primanti’s (also good for you) and I’m giving away four tickets, provided by Kennywood. A perfect way to end your summer with your family!

So you have something to say, tell me what your favorite part of Kennywood is. Is it people watching? The Phantom’s Revenge. The double dip of the Jack Rabbit? The parades?

Good luck! Also, remind me to tell you about the time the Thunderbolt ejected my hearing aid from my ear.

That was special.

And expensive.

I love that my kids love the same rides that I did as a kid: Jack Rabbit, Turtle, Racer.

My favorite part of kennywood is that this year my son was finally tall enough to ride the Thunder Bolt. He’s been waiting for YEARS and the look on his face during the first trip was totally worth it.

I haven’t been to Kennywood in years, and mostly remember the atmosphere. It was friendly and welcoming, a place where family and friends could enjoy the day even if they didn’t ride many rides. I would love to go back again and wander the park for a day.

Boring, but Potato Patch Fries are the best.

I do also enjoy the fact that my kids are old enough to be on their own. “I am currently at the Potato Patch. On your way out, come and find me at the Fudge Kitchen where I probably have just finished my Corn Dog chaser.”

My favorite part of Kennywood is watching my almost 4 yr old take it all in and ride as many rides as he possibly can and then going back and riding them all again! He is partial to anything “fast” and was slightly irritated that I made him go on the carousel this year because it didn’t go fast enough (even though I felt like puking after the fact!). I also love the potato patch fries, deep fried oreos, the whip and the exterminator. : )

Absolutely love Kennywood once the lights come on at night. It just makes everything seem magical. And we always stop at that candy shop at the exit right before we leave. Something about that air conditioned shop on a warm summers night smelling like every yummy confection you can dream of.

The Thunderbolt! It isn’t the tallest, the steepest, or the fastest roller coaster; it’s just the most fun! I could ride it all day!

I have such terrible vertigo that I can’t even look at the rides — them moving, me stationary — without getting nauseated.

My favorite parts of Kennywood are: 1. The wonderful landscaping with OLD trees! and 2. Potato Patch fries with vinegar.
