Meet the hosts of Ghost Hunters Giveaway!

The very idea of ghosts gives me heebie jeebies that would freak out an actual ghost.

That was a weird sentence.

Maybe I should say, “The very idea of ghosts gives my heebie jeebies the heebie jeebies.”

The very idea of ghosts gives me heebie jeebies that would give a penguin the chills.

You get the picture and that picture is this: [shudder]

The worst part is that I’m very good at scaring myself. I’ll walk into my basement and say to myself, “What if the Blair Witch is down here?”

Or I’ll be sitting in my living room alone and say to myself, “What if a little girl ghost walks in here all, ‘ MIIIIIIILK?'”

Or I’ll see an old paintbrush on a shelf in the basement and I’ll say to myself, “Wouldn’t it be weird if I came down here tomorrow and that paintbrush was on the ground?”

If I ever find that old paintbrush on the ground, I will run screaming all the way to Ireland.

There’s a big old house for sale in my neighborhood and the rumored reason that it is for sale so often is because it is haunted. When I told my husband this, he asked, “Ooooh. How much do they want for it?” And I said, “One hundred billion dollars. We can’t afford it. Bummer.”

If you love being scared and you love the idea of ghosts or just plan to visit the ScareHouse this year, this is the giveaway for you!

What: Two tickets to the ScareHouse’s Meet the Ghost Hunters event.

Meet the stars from two of the county’s top-rated paranormal TV shows: Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International.  Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango, Kris Williams and Amy Bruni will be meeting fans, signing autographs, and posing for photos during two VIP events.   Only a limited number of tickets will be sold for each 2-hour, private event at Olive Or Twist.

Your ticket includes:

  • Socializing with Steve, Tango, Kris, and Amy
  • Two hours of hot hors d’oeuvres and delicious desserts
  • Free soft drinks (cash bar available)
  • One RIP admission to The ScareHouse good for any night of operation on or before 10/30/11. This is a $30 value!

This is video from last year’s event:

When: Saturday, October 1st. The winner will choose between the 1-3 p.m. event or the 4-6 p.m. event.

Value: The tickets sell for $80 each and the RIP ticket is worth $30, therefore this giveaway is valued at $220!

If you don’t win: You can buy tickets here! $80 gets you the meet and greet, food, and an RIP admission to the ScareHouse. The event sells out every year.

To Enter: Leave a comment! One comment per valid email address. You have until Thursday at noon to enter at which time Random.org will select the winning comment number. If your comment goes to spam, scream your head off and run all the way to Ireland.

Don’t do that. Relax. I’ll periodically pull them from spam.

So you have something to say, tell me what the most fun you ever had being scared was.

For me, it was probably the time I was 13 or so and I watched Tremors for the first time with my best friend in her dark bedroom late one night. We screamed our guts out.

Graboids are scary shit.

P.S. I hope Tango’s real name is Tango and I hope he has a brother named Bravo and a sister named Delta.

I guess I had fun being scared when I went to a Halloween haunted house with a friend when we were in High School. We were totally freaked out, and ended up grabbing some random guys to finish walking us through it.

Steve, Tango & Kris would be cool to meet. I wish Grant was going to be there…he’s totally hot ;)

If we’re wishing things about Tango’s family, can I wish his sister’s named Echo and she looks like Eliza Dushku?

    Just sayin’…

Ah Tango, you gotta love Tango. “Hey Tango. Hey Steve, listen to this.” I so wish poor Steve would get over his fear of flying, lest he forever be stuck in the US. He will never be promoted to Ghost Hunters International at this rate!!! Fingers crossed I get picked! Oh … and David Conrad goes with the Ghost Hunters on an investigation? I would just be in heaven watching THAT…

In all seriousness, the house I live in now is haunted so we’re freaked out on almost a weekly basis.

No lie, we’ve seen shadows walk through different rooms in our house; have had ceiling fans switches get turned on and off; hear footsteps allll the time; and probably the freakiest of all was that one time when random, off-centered pictures of every.single.room in my house (including the unfinished bedroom that we’ve put off finishing for over a year now that is always closed) turned up on my digital camera. With a day/time stamp that occurred when we were out to eat.

I would love to meet the Ghost Hunters crew – how awesome would that be?!

No real ghost stories, but the night after I watched Paranormal Activity I woke up in the middle of the night and got freaked out by the blinking light on my wife’s heating pad control. True story.

Back in college, one of the dorms on campus that was shutdown was haunted. Some of us would get in, with the help of friends working campus police, to spend some time exploring. Someone would always have something happen to them while they were in there.

Nemacolin Castle in Brownsville is one creepy place. I was given a tour of the place by a paranormal investigator. The main entryway of the house is where they used to hold wakes for family members. I felt such heaviness and dread in that room before being told what it was previously used for.

Highly recommend paying a visit for their halloween tours.

I’m a chicken. I’m always scared. Of zombies, of the dark, of ghosts.

One time I was at a friend’s house and she was playing a scary game. I was huddled on her bed near the window, which had no screen and a window fan in it. Her brother snuck outside, unbeknownst to us, and just when something scary happened on the TV screen, he pushed the window fan in on me. Scared the bejeebus out of us.

When my aunt lived with our family after college, she was reading Stephen King’s Pet Cemetery. One night when she was out, my dad went outside and collected a few fall leaves and put them inside the pages of the book. The next time she picked it up to read, she screamed and dropped it. I don’t think she ever finished it.

During Summer vacation one year everyone in my house had gone to sleep and it was around 2:00 in the morning and I came across “Carrie” on tv, so of course I wanted to watch it! The weird thing is this movie doesn’t really frighten me, but for some reason that night it sure did. I was SO scared when the movie was finally over that I went around the house and turned on all of the lights and then went and sat in my room with the lights on for hours trying to fall asleep.

I used to read a lot of Stephan King when I was younger, but never really liked the scary movies. My boyfriend at the time loved scary movies, so I would sit with my eyes closed while he watched the Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St, and Halloween movies.

Oddly, both my kids love scary movies and haunted houses.

Thought we were experiencing our first “encounter” in our new house when my touch make-up mirror kept coming on when we weren’t in the room. Never had done it before at old house. Come to find out that when we turn on the candles in the windows the electric somehow backfeeds and turns the make-up mirror on. Same with the under-the-cabinet touch lighting in the kitchen.

Neat party trick now, but I am a little disappointed that it was just the boring electric!

Had two experiences on the Gettysburg Ghost Tour (heard the sound of horses’ hooves clip-clopping along at one point on the tour and smelled pipe tobacco right under my nose (twice!) at another point and no one in the group was smoking. Also, walking late at night in front of the Alamo in Texas, thought for sure someone was behind me – I kept grabbing the back of my neck and looking over my shoulder and no one was there. Loved every scary minute of both experiences! And I’d be glad to hold Steve’s hand anytime he wants to fly! :)

We were visiting a friend for the 1st time and in order to get to his house you had to go on some back roads. Somehow during our visit we got to talking about very creepy and paranormal things that have happened to him in his house and also stories of encounters with unexplained things on the back roads near his house.

By the time we left it was after midnight and I was TERRIFIED!! Especially knowing we had to travel on those SAME back roads he told us about. As soon as we got into the car I shut my eyes and said I was keeping them shut until we were on the main highway. Of course, we’re on the very same back roads and I hear my boyfriend shout “OH SH*T!!” and slam on the breaks. I knew by the tone in his voice he was not joking and I was about to pass out at the thought of what was going on. I opened my eyes and a raccoon is running across the road, eyes shinning back at us. Oh my gosh, talk about RELIEF!! lol

When I was little I used to be afraid to sleep with my feet outside of the covers because I was afraid Freddy Krueger would come and cut off my feet. Sometimes to this day, at the age of 29, I still will cover my feet if I think about it.

One of our family dogs passed away many years ago and not long after I was sitting in the living room and all of a sudden I saw paw print indentations in the carpet, walking across the living room… At 1st I was very scared, but then I got a sense of happiness and I knew our dog was there, wanting to say hello.

I hate scary things. After 3 kids, I’m afraid I’m going to pee my pants. My husband loves this stuff. The only thing he DVRs is ghost hunter shows. He got the kids into it. So, to be a jerk, I always say, “Did you hear that?” followed by, “Pretty sure that was an unintelligible noise.” Makes him real happy.
