The winners have been contacted via email.

If you didn’t win, you can buy a shirt from Fresh Factory here.

You also can enter this new giveaway for a free fine art photography print of Pittsburgh!

What: Karie Lynch, the local photographer who runs the Spackle the Gap shop on Etsy has generously agreed to grant one lucky winner their choice of an 8 x 10 print of any image in her shop. She will then mount it and double-matte it to an 11 x 17 size for framing. That is a gorgeous size for hanging in your home or office, or for putting away to gift this holiday season.

Some of her prints include these (click for embiggens):

Kennywood, one in a series of three Kennywood prints:

And this one, Pittsburgh Crossroads, which I also love:

To Enter: Leave a comment. One comment per valid email address. You have until Friday at noon to enter at which time Random.org will select the winning comment number and I’ll then post the History Center ticket giveaway. So you have something so say, describe briefly or in great detail the most embarrassing picture in existence of yourself.  Mine? You’ve already seen them. ALL OF THEM.

If your comment goes to spam, take a hi-res photo of it and email it to me. No, don’t do that. Chillax. I’ll pull it out of spam for you.

Good luck!

I was a kid in the 70s. So, all of my childhood photos are horrendous. What an ugly decade! Or did my mom just dress me funny?

Yeah well. I was a nun in my 11th grade play. Full on habit. Ugh.

There’s a picture of the 3 year old version of me hitting my 4 year old cousin with a rake. Attractive, eh?

I’m going to have to echo @Me. There’s one picture of my sister and I in striped pants with giant flowers on them. We’re eleven months apart and for about four year straight between 1973 through 77 she would dress us in the most hideous matching outfits. Lucky for me, my sister grew four inches and started developing.

Sixth grade class photo: big red glasses, braces, white turtleneck, gray-white-red-black argyle sweater vest, straight hair not yet made curly by puberty. 1983. And I was sure that Simon LeBon was going to fall madly in love with me.

It was Easter of my first grade year, and my mother had told me that I could pick out my own suit for Easter. So my Easter photos that year show me wearing purple slacks with a purple vest that had a gold chain going across the front. To make matters worse, I had been given sunglasses with a baseball, bat and glove molded into frame, which was bright yellow. When I walked into church wearing that suit and those sunglasses, one of the ladies there cried out “LORDY, it’s the white RAY CHARLES!”
Of course as soon as she has ever met any of my girlfriends, my mom has to break out the pics from that Easter! (is it any wonder that i’m still single at age *cough*cough*?)

I have a picture of me and two of my friends in our VERY awkward years (horrible haircuts, pimple-faced, lanky limbs) in cheerleading poses – we certainly weren’t cheerleaders.

The pic unfortunately still exists out there, it is a sad combination of me with plastic, blue framed glasses, rock’in a home perm (thanks Mom), and a smile that begged for braces…all wrapped up in a pathetic elementary school pic!!!

It has to be that prom picture from 1990! Big hair with a big, ugly dress – what was I thinking??? Speaking of which, have we seen a prom picture of Ginny… I can’t remember.

Probably the one where I drunkenly fell asleep on the couch in the middle of a relatively lively kegger in college. I think you can see people doing keg stands in the background.

senior portrait, circa 1996 (for a ’97 graduation). It may have included me peeking through a bamboo beaded curtain. And it was one we actually selected to make more prints of. WTF was I thinking? Very long curly hair, but straightened bangs. I almost cried when my parents pulled it out randomly and put it in the dining room and my husband found it. I don’t embarrass easy, but the husband had a field day with this one.

Definitely a pic of me from when I was 12 the day my Dad took me to “his” barber for a haircut. One Vanilla Ice-semi mohawk later and I had the worst picture in my life to look back on.

I was photographed (unbeknownst to me) by a newspaper photographer during warm-ups before a high school basketball game. While I admit I have never been rail-thin, I was fit at the time. The photograph was taken at a bad angle and I look like a Mack truck. The photograph, 3 by 6 in all it’s glory, ran in the sports section of our regional paper.

Me holding a box fan above my head while standing in front of the smoke alarm. This was after burning dinner AGAIN. The worried expression on my face was because campus safety came by every time the alarm went off to give us the “save cooking” speech. Given I had heard the speech….3 times already I was in no mood for round 4.

I guess that would be my old driver’s license picture. I am 18. My hair is still short and I look plain ugly. To make it even nicer I was super pissed because I had some trouble with getting this picture taken (I can’t remember the details) and so I have in addition to my pretty hair cut and boy-style clothes a KILLER look in my eyes and clenched teeth. Plain awesome ;(

Seriously awesome are on the other hands these photos. I would love to win one :)

7th grade – I was rocking an “asymmetrical” haircut which I thought was awesome (short and sort of feathered on ONE SIDE), big red SJR glasses (thank you Carrie), and braces. The light from the flashbulb is reflecting off both my glasses and my braces. Hawt. I was also wearing some sort of denim blazer with the sleeves rolled up. I will post if I win!

My Mom took a picture of me in the bathroom at one of the Smithsonian Museums in DC when I was about 12 yrs old. In the picture you just see my shoes and the shorts around my ankles sticking out from under the bathroom stall. She thought it was soooo funny and still, 20 years later, likes to show it to people.

Just about any picture of me. Maybe my first communion picture where I was dressed up in the frilly white dress and the angriest look ever on my face? Yeah, probably that.

When I was a kid, I had an unfortunate perm incident where I ended up looking like the end of Q-tip. To make matters worse, it was that time of the year when they take family photos for our church directory. That year,to make it even better, my mother thought it would be cute to dress my sister and I in striped overalls for the church photo. One of us is in pastel pink striped overalls and the other in pastel purple striped overalls. That photo was published in our church directory… oh the horror.

Sadly, my worst aren’t from when I was a kid (although some of those are pretty bad). My sister got married in ’99 and I was having trouble with my contacts, so every picture from that day has me in my super cool super big framed totally out of style glasses. She is still mad at me over that!

5th grade school photo – had just gotten glasses and I look back and cringe. What were my parents thinking, the glasses were way too big for my face. 9th and 10th grade school photos were pretty bad too.

My late 70’s early 80’s family picture – there are 10 in our family and it looks like an Olin Mills photo on crack. We all had on outfits, none of which matched in any pattern, color, or material (mostly polyester I think) and I was lucky enough to sport a Prince Valiant haircut. Geez, I guess when you have 10 to get ready for a photo, you just want them dressed – fashion is very optional.

I’m pretty sure there are plenty to chose from my preteen years. Side ponytail, two socks that are two different colors and alternating colors on each foot, bad neon pants and some sort of horrific baggy t-shirt to top it off. Fashion has never been my strong point.

7th grade we had to make some kind of product. When the teacher took my picture with the laundry soap I created – I had on the 80’s version of leggins (with stirrups!), and a matching shirt. They were made of this blue wrinkly material. I was standing on the sides of my feet for some reason. And also, I had really bad short, curly hair (from a perm), braces and giant 80’s glasses. (a la Sophia from the Golden Girls).
