Life is Sweet Ticket Giveaway! chose comment #2 as the winner. Nicole has been notified!

Life is basically doing the best you can with the hand you’re dealt at birth — making the most of your time here regardless of initial speed-bumps on the path to adulthood.

That means doing the best with what country you are born in, what social class you are born into, what family you are born into, and what state of health you are born into.

Best Buddies of Western PA is doing a good job of helping kids do the best with what they’ve been dealt — Autism, Down Syndrome, and Intellectual and Development Disabilities.

Best Buddies, you might recall, is the organization that Daniel Sepulvedanomnomnom supported in their “End the R Word” campaign last year.

Out of respect, I did not circle Daniel’s arm muscles in MS Paint and put a super-happy smiley face next to it. Class. I has it.

Best Buddies is hosting a new fundraiser this year, and a lucky reader and a guest get to go!

What: Two regular admission tickets to the Life is Sweet Best Buddies Chef Showcase on October 20 at the Society for Contemporary Craft in the Strip District from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Life is Sweet Chef Showcase is a gourmet event featuring dazzling delicacies from the area’s most renowned Chefs and their Buddies.  The Life is Sweet Chef Showcase is a signature Best Buddies International event that has had major success in Washington D.C., Dallas, Vegas, and Maui.  Top chefs will be paired with Buddy Chefs (participants in our program with IDD) for a memorable night of gourmet creations and friendships. The Chef Showcase will be an exciting event that combines delicious local food with innovative pieces of local art that you won’t want to miss!

There will be food, art, wine, conversation, inspirational children, and I’m told there is a BOOZE WAGON to be bid on at auction. I don’t even know what a booze wagon is. I just know I need one.

Value: This giveaway is valued at $120.

To Enter: Leave a comment! Spam comments will be fished out by yours truly when yours truly feels like it.  Any comment will do, but so you have something to say, when you are playing “Chef” at home, what is the best thing you can cook or bake that blows all of your other creations out of the water? Do you make a mean pancake? The best chocolate cookie? (No you don’t, I do) Killer lasagna? Or can you nuke the shit out of some Weight Watchers like nobody else?

Me? I make a kickass veggie lasagna that is so good, when my sister-in-law visited from Mexico, she requested it for BREAKFAST too.

You have until Friday at 10:00 a.m. at which time I’ll pick the lucky winner! I’m going to try to make it to this event so maybe I’ll see you there!

If you don’t win, you can purchase tickets right here!

Good luck!

Fine Print: As usual, I’m not receiving any compensation for this post.

Buccatini all’amatriciana… The sauce, the noodles, everything is made from scratch. Not bad for someone who isn’t Italian! :)

My brick oven pizza isn’t too shabby either…

I love to cook almost as much as I love to eat!
