Yes, we’re going to talk about the Steelers today. I’m strongly considering just posting a picture of feces and taking a bow. We’ll see.
While you wash the taste of the loss out of your mouth with tequila (just me?) and try to eye-bleach away the image of that OT touchdown being run in and try to stab the word “Tebow” out of your eardrums, why not take a look at something soothing? Like these HDR photos of Pittsburgh by Zach Frailey (@uprooted_photos on Twitter) — an ex-pat Burgher who uses his visits home to snap breathtaking pictures.
His site is filled with pictures taken all over, but I’m going to link you to those that are tagged “Pittsburgh.” A few of my faves, but you should check them all out. Click the pic for embiggened.
And this one isn’t Pittsburgh, but, SQUEEE:
Prints are available on his site. This isn’t a paid ad; these pictures just make my boobs tingle and I wanted to share them.
The pictures. Not my boobs.
Stupid Steelers.

I’ve had the pleasure of shooting with Zach a few of the times that he has made it back to the ‘Burgh, awesome guy for sure and a great collection of his shots here!

Thanks so much for the shout out! And thanks for those kind words Dave! Nothing better than shooting photos in the ‘burgh. Also had no idea my work could have that tingling effect. Haha, too funny!

Awesome photos. I only wish I was that good at any point of time in my life.
Was there a football game yesterday? I seem to remember the post season being over already…

Wow. Super cool photos. Not enough to erase the gut punch of yesterday’s loss, though.

I really like the one of downtown Pittsburgh taken from Mt Washington.
The pictures remind me very much of the paintings by Thomas Kincaid, with the light emphasized.

Seeing these fantastic photos reinforces, in my mind at least, that our city is much greater than the sports teams that call it home. Thanks for sharing these! :)

Adore the PPG photo for the vantage point, the steely colors, and the splash of green. Also love it because it reminds me a little bit of the scene in Ghostbusters where the clouds are gathering over Sigourney Weaver’s character’s building. If you went to the tippy top point, do you think Rick Moranis would be there?

The last picture looks like the statue outside of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, OH.
