Oh, Hines.

Here’s video from TMZ of Hines Ward during his DUI arrest.

Hines is understandably freaked out about ESPN and the newspapers finding out about his arrest, and forgive me for being so bold as to call it, but Hines is CLEARLY drunk and the proof is when he is pretty much passing out in the back seat of the police car, causing him to bonk his head on the plastic divider when the squad car brakes.

Don’t drink and drive, kids! Nobody looks worthy of hero status when they’re drunk-whining on dash-cam.

Sure, I get it, don’t drink and drive.

But what’s the point of this coming out a year later? I have an issue with this from a privacy standpoint. We’re not all entitled to be voyeurs.

At least they didn’t post video of Hines cheating on his ex-wife.

I agree with Joe, too. This is old news…. Can’t we just give it a rest and let the man have a shred of dignity? He just lost his job for sh!tsake!!! And face it — there are a ton of sports figures who have done a whole hell of a lot worse.

He could have killed someone. This incident did not help him keep his job. He got off of a DUI charge and got a year’s probation for reckless driving. If you or I were dumb enough to be in his situation, we would have gotten the DUI charge. He is a public figure, I do not believe this is an invasion of his privacy. There was nothing dignified about his arrest.
