Weddings Issue Cover Contest at Pittsburgh Magazine!

(Previously not shared, the Kraemer Zirkel wedding of 2009)

A year or so ago I started becoming obsessed with Pittsburgh-themed weddings, and I’ve featured many amazing pictures that you have sent to me of your weddings or weddings you’ve photographed.

Piggybacking off of that, Pittsburgh Magazine is holding a photography contest called “Share Your ‘Burgh Love” in which you can see your wedding photograph on the cover of the Pittsburgh Magazine WEDDINGS issue which will be published in February of 2013.

You have until December 2, 2012 to email me your wedding photo(s). Now, if you’ve already emailed me a 2012 wedding photo, do me a favor and send it to me again because I haven’t filed all of them away in any orderly fashion because that was before this contest was conceived. I have some of them, but not all of them. Also, you don’t have to submit just one photo. Submit as many as you’d like and the editors are going to comb through them. There will be a Readers’ Choice photo as well. And when you email me them, send along the photographer’s name and the date of the wedding as well.

You can read a few more details here.

My email is virginia [at]

Spread the word and get me some good pictures, Pittsburgh!

Ahhhh! The groom learns early on what his lot will be for the rest of his life. Instructive.

Fair point. And, separately, I hope the two women directly behind him are also holding towels, otherwise this photo is subject to an entirely different interpretation. It’s hard to unsee once you see it that way.

In any event, congrats to the happy couple!

A little S&M with the bridesmaids while the bride is away? (Maybe she objected and they tossed her off the platform.) What’s not to like? Fun for all, and all for fun! And is that Melissa McCarthy there, third from left? I’d beg her to give me first smacks.

That is gonna be a night to remember.

BTW, we tell most people we had something like 400 guests at our wedding and they look at us like we were insane. Then we tell them it was a small wedding by western Pa. coal town standards and that we’ve been to weddings with twice as many guests and they got fed in shifts …
