Well, not only is the Burgh home to gatherings of furries, we’re also home to gatherings of anarchists. Organized gatherings of anarchists at Schenley Park.
I read this article thinking, well this sounds like a pretty tame event. It was organized by the Pittsburgh Organizing Group (of course) to “celebrate the often forgotten history of peoples’ struggles in the United States and to help foster the local anarchist community outside of protests and direct actions.”
Then like a bat out of hell, the scary comes:
The cop car piñata was a highlight for the youngest kids, who were left to figure out how to bring justice and candy. One girl pleaded, “Don’t hit the robber in the back of the car, hit the police!” a sentiment echoed by the boy next to her who remarked, “They’re evil.” Five minutes of team-work produced one destroyed car and a stream of sugary treats.
Who are these kids?!? There are certain things in scary/horror movies that truly freak PittGirl out, and at the top of that list is “children.” Shiver.
You know if I had been witness to little cute kiddies beating the shit out of a pinata cop car while talking of protecting criminals and killing cops, I would have done some made up, Ghostbusters, exorcism “be gone” hand gesture, spoke some made up Latin, smacked them on the forehead with my palm, and then ran as fast as I could hoping the demons weren’t after me. Scary kids suck.
